The first round of the Bridgestone supersport 600 championship was held at a cold and blustery Mondello park on the 19th of March.
A four bike pile-up on the opening lap of the first SS600 race caused a red flag postponement, whilst riders were attended to by the medics, and Marshals recovered stricken machinery.
On the restart Richie Ryan (2004 SS400 national champion) on the Barron motorcycles Kawasaki took a convincing win from Gary Robinson and Stephen McKnight with AJ Hutchinson taking fourth on the new Triumph triple for team Absol racing.

With time running out because of all the red flag incidents and then an oil spillage arising from one of the incidents the race organisers cancelled the second half of the race programme.
William Davison from Portglennone was the round one lucky winner of the set of Bridgestone
BT002 tyres in the Bridgestone raffle.
This just happened to be William's very first ever
race. William races in the Pre97 class, and despite his inexperience finished in 11th.
